• A Safer Community—Four years ago, Ron promised to take back Lancaster from the criminals. Today, crime in our city has been REDUCED by 32%!

• More Deputy Patrols—Ron fought City Hall and led the successful effort to hire More Deputies. As Vice Mayor, he created tougher laws to protect our families.

• Downtown Renovation—Ron is spearheading a major construction boom to revitalize Downtown and bring new shops, restaurants and amenities to Lancaster.

• Vice Mayor—After being elected with the most votes of any council member, Ron Smith kept all of his campaign promises as a “Hands-On” representative of the citizens, initiating and writing many laws and policies that moved Lancaster in a Positive Direction.

• Retired Deputy Sheriff—15 years of Law Enforcement service.

• Local Educator— Assistant Adjunct Professor at Antelope Valley College. Hosts nature and bird-watching walks for local residents.

• Community Volunteer—Ron has been dedicated to the community and served for many community organizations. He created and chaired the first American Heroes Dinner for the Boy Scouts.

• Family Man—Over 23 years ago, Ron and his wife Jamie chose to make Lancaster their home and the place to raise their family.

• Greater Accountability—Ron authored a tough new disclosure law for lobbyists and he increased public participation in city planning decisions.

• Improved Citizen Access—Ron continues to hold regular “Coffee with the Vice Mayor” community meetings to listen to the concerns of local residents.
